Except that fully automatic weapons are not illegal. They have never been illegal. Further, they probably never will be illegal.

This is the state whose REPUBLICAN Senator annually filed a federal bill to ban handguns.
Given the current state of affairs up there, is is difficult to imagine that those were the most radical of the revolutionaries. New York was the state where the Anti-Federalists dug in their heels and said “No guarantee of rights at the new Federal level, no ratification of the Constitution of the United States.” Then their descendants gave us the Sullivan Law.
They seem to have a Second Amendment up there. They claim to support it wholeheartedly. But its apparently different from ours. Theirs bans private ownership of cannons among other things.
