H.Con.Res. 38: Directing the President pursuant to section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution to remove United States Armed Forces from unauthorized hostilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran… Prognosis

Seems to me ignoring the Constitutional delegation of the power to declare war to Congress has produced nothing but catastrophe since the end of WWII. If we’re going to risk WWIII, I want to have a say in it through my representatives.
It’s both amazing and depressing to see how knee-jerk hostile many self-identified MAGA types get on social media at the suggestion that we might just want to listen to the Founders on this. Ditto for some gun owners, who aren’t grokking a text, history, and tradition parallel…
I guess they’re ready for martial law, ration cards, and suspension of rights. Either that or they think it will always just be something we see on the news.
Very few seem to be asking “Cui bono?” or connecting dots to the “Deep State” Trump campaigned against.
I don’t even see the need. We created the MOP bomb fast out of old 8 inch howitzer barrels. The Israelis don’t have any 8 inch but they’ve got plenty of 155mm and guidance packages, they can make their own. They ought to penetrate just as deep. Half the weight of explosive filler? Drop twice as many.
No war without Congressional Declaration. Period.
The CONgress long ago abdicated its various powers including the absolute and unequivocal power to declare war. Ergo the many entrees into foreign fights with no declarations of war.
To listen to any CONgresscritter now demanding the powers abdicated just encourages me to have another beer…as I cannot even rid myself of my CONgresscritter.
