SDS and its offshoot, the Weather Underground, are the Khmer Rouge of American politics. And, were they ever to gain that much power, they would pursue the same policies and practice the same genocidal terror that the Cambodian Khmer Rouge did in 1975.
The event that prompted the SDS to expel the radicalized faction that became the Weathermen and then Weather Underground was that faction’s advocacy of bombing American elementary schools. They felt that American parents could not fully grasp the impact of the Vietnam War until their children were being bombed like Vietnamese children were being bombed.
The leaders of the expelled faction were Bill Ayers and the woman he would marry, Bernardine Dohrn.
Note that when Barack Obama started his campaign for Illinois State Senate, his first fund raiser, funded by a George Soros backed fund, was held in Ayres’ & Dohrn’s Chicago living room.

Birds of a feather
Flock together.
That they both are not incarcerated with no hope of release is a monumental injustice and evil stain on the Republic.
