The FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System processed more than 165,000 firearms-related background checks on Black Friday—with the FBI providing responses on 94% of federal background checks in mere minutes. So… at least the prior restraints are efficient?

“This critical work protects Americans’ Second Amendment rights and keeps our country safe by preventing prohibited persons from obtaining firearms.”
I would love to hear someone from the FBI defend those two bald faced lies in a straight up debate.
1. RKBA is referred to in the Second Amendment but does not originate from it. How in the world would a sane person conclude that background checks, an infringement, protects that which states “shall not be infringed.” or is this coming from the folks who originated “fighting for peace”?
2. Backgrounds checks are conducted by FFLs. They may have some utility in preventing prohibited persons from acquiring firearms from the brick and mortar retail channel mostly associated with FFL holders, but nowadays that’s a shrinking part of the overall firearms distribution network. Interviews of prison inmates repeatedly show that criminals don’t acquire their firearms through the retail channel so at best NICS checks only serve to steer their acquisition of firearms to other sources. But those inmates say they still have little or no trouble in obtaining firearms.
