On Being Necessary

Those Forgotten and Ignored 13 Words: Why We Need Our State Second Amendment Militias Back in Force and Effect [More]

Some of us have been saying that for a while, and wondering when the “gun rights groups” are going to give it some of the attention they devote exclusively to “self-defense.”

  1. I suspect most modern Americans, given the crappy way history is taught these days, would be shocked to find out that the colonies’ RKBA protections were the original versions , and that if the Federalists hadn’t buckled when the Anti-Federalists demanded those protections be copied into the Federal Constitution, there would be no Second Amendment, no Federal Government, and no United States of America.

In short, the Virginia Declaration of Rights of 1776 was the original. All of the others, including the Second Amendment of 1791, are the copies.
