Target and Whole Foods LEAVE NYC… as Mamdani Launches 5 FREE GROCERY STORES [Watch]
“Free”…
But good. Let the rope-selling capitalists see what life under politicians they enable will be like. And I can’t wait to see flash mobs, rioters, arsonists, and looters running wild at MamdaniMarts, especially if security opens fire on them.

Correction: Mamdani has launched the IDEA of “5 free grocery stores.” The first one has yet to be built.
On top of that, the city has budgeted some $70 million for the 5 stores, and that first one is estimated to cost $30 million to get started, slated for a property the city already owns (meaning the program doesn’t have to spend the money to purchase the land). It should arguably be the LEAST costly to prop up, but that one store alone will eat nearly half the budget allotted for all five.
In software development, we have Cargill’s Law (paraphrased): The first 90% of the project takes the first 90% of the time and resources; the last 10% takes the other 90%.
It’s looking like that applies to Mamdani’s (and socialists’ in general) real-world projects, too.
Furthermore, Mamdani never promised the stores would be free. He promised they would buy and sell groceries at wholesale prices.
It was the buses he promised would be free.
But it’s hilarious to see the “food desert” already in process, exactly like we predicted it would be. Like the old joke about if you put communists in charge of the Sahara, there would soon be be a shortage of sand.
