The Dogs of War

Robot dogs with rocket launchers and drone Black Hawks are here [Watch]

This has always been my major beef with Asimov.

Is it just me or, creepiness factor aside, does that thing look pretty limited and vulnerable?

And can Talcum X buy one?

It’s been my experience that one isn’t supposed to point that out, we’re just supposed to point and cower according the scaremongers who post videos of them.

  2. Keep in mind that the 1903 Wright Flyer was at once a pretty crappy airplane and a pretty good proof of concept.

A short 12 years later (1915), Fokker Eindeckers were patrolling the skies over the trenches of Europe.

Three years after that (1918) the Fokker DVII was so good that as part of the armistice agreement Germany was required to turn all of them over to the Allies as a precondition for the ceasefire.

Note that the Russian and Chinese “dogs” shown in the videos bear a very close resemblance to ones produced by Boston Dynamics.

One can only wonder if they’re working on an armed variant.
