  1. “Once upon a time …”

… there were stories on the web about puzzling Iranian tests involving retrofitting a cargo ship with a vertical launcher for ballistic missiles. The tests involved firing the missiles 300 miles straight up over the Caspian Sea for no apparent reason.

Those stories have since disappeared from the web, and many would say never really existed, except that pictures of people jumping to their deaths from the heights of the World Trade Center’s towers rather than be burned in the inferno have disappeared as well, along with photos of Brittany Spears and Paris Hilton exiting a limo, obviously “going commando” for a night out on the town.

So obviously things can be purged from the web if the ones doing the purging have enough power, money. or influence.

As a side note, the EMP from a nuclear detonation 300 miles over the Great Lakes would fry just about every semiconductor “chip” in North America. Remember when Americans joked about bombing Iran back into the stone age? Apparently, some of the Mullahs have no sense of humor.
