There’s a typo in that report somewhere:
– Adrian Burrell, 28, posted video of the encounter….
– Burrell said he was in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years before he was honorably discharged in 2012.
So he enlisted when he was 12-13 and was honorably discharged at 16-17?
More likely, he’s in his mid-30s (not 28), or was discharged in 2022 or 2023, and the typo somehow made it through “Layers and layers of editorial oversight.”
And now I’m wondering what Officer McLaughlin’s record in Oakland looked like, and why he and his brother Ryan are still on the force in Vallejo, seeing as “Both brothers have previously been sued for alleged civil rights violations.”
Innocent until proven guilty, sure — for criminal charges — but I’m beginning to see a pattern of civil issues here.
