Imagine the response if one of the residents had started firing paintballs at the phalanx of jackbooted thugs with badges. They would have immediately assumed they were in mortal danger and responded with fire from sidearms and “patrol rifles” (likely full auto) — and the “miscreant domestic terrorist” would be dead. They actually deserved a similar response from the citizenry for their unsafe provocations of people merely standing on their porches.
