As long as we’re using the royal “we,” we also don’t want Red Queen Laws. We don’t believe citizen disarmament edicts stop dangerous people from getting guns. And we don’t believe in enforcing existing Intolerable Acts.

“Violent criminal thugs” usually go through a lot of acting out before earning that designation. In general, their avocation should be noted and they should be incarcerated where possession of guns is extremely difficult if not impossible. Let them out if and when they put as much effort into showing they can become productive members of society as they did to get themselves locked up.
The fly in the soup is that those who would disarm the law abiding are also those who disapprove of long term incarceration of the professional violent criminal.
