I used to joke about making it so expensive to drive that we’d have to move back into the inner cities, and then fence US in.
“Escape from New York anyone?”
If making things illegal fixed everything, we’d already be living in a utopia.
After prohibiting businesses from leaving The City, the next thing they have to do is make it illegal for a business to close down for any reason — including the death of the owner(s) — and they’ll have a perpetual source of business tax plunder.
While they’re at it, why not just make it illegal to die, and then they’ll REALLY have unlimited labor.
