I can’t help but think they have the resources for this but said they didn’t do do what was needed to mobilize Virginia voters.
Realistically, who wants to throw money into this hole?

That was our first election after moving from Miami, FL. to Fredericksburg, VA. I didn’t see any evidence of NRA being engaged in the election at all.
Alternatively, asked why the NRA was needed to mobilize VA gun owners when the oh-so-internet-savvy, trend-aware, up-to-date cohort of the gun community that supposedly knows how memes work didn’t magic up the mobilization instead.
Probably because it didn’t require magic, it required organized coordination and a doable plan with resources to carry it out.
That and a “gun community” that wasn’t mostly either indifferent to getting involved or Democrat Fudds.
Traditionally, the infamous “orange post card” was the NRA’s most potent weapon. Before Al Gore invented the internet, there were snowdrifts of orange postcards dumped in legislative offices across the Republic. Piss off the NRA and get a ton of orange post cards, each representing a potential negative vote next time you stood for election.

After Wayne LaPierre’s crimes were revealed, I never renewed my membership. Joined the 2nd Amendment Foundation instead. I figure that, even though Wayne is gone, NRA members will be paying for his fraud and neglect for decades to come. LaPierre belongs behind bars – why isn’t he?
