  1. There are Second Amendment supporters in NYC. But now we’re talking about a different Second Amendment than the one we usually talk about around here.

    And the current POTUS is no exception.

    There must be something in the water up there. Could be due to having New Jersey as a neighbor. “The Garden State” has more EPA Superfund sites than any other.

    The irony here is that New York is the state where Anti-Federalists dug in their heels and said “No Federal protections analogous to what the state constitutions have, no ratification of the Constitution of the United States!”, and forced the Federalists to cave and agree to the addition of the amendments that became what we call “The Bill of Rights.”

    They explained it all in the part that they didn’t teach you about in school.

    “The Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution.”
