By now, we should all know that the fee for the Tax Stamp required for suppressor ownership is going away, but the process and stamp remain. In preparation for the enactment of the $0 Tax Stamp on Jan. 1, the ATF has announced they will stop processing eForm submissions through the eForms portal at midnight, Dec. 26, 2025. They are doing this so they can update their workflows and the eForms portal. These updates are expected to be complete and processing resumed beginning midnight Jan. 1, 2026. [More]

  1. What they’re saying is the acceptance and processing with accurate approval or denial, are not considered by BATFE to be core mission critical functions of that bureau.

    If it was, they would have created the new software starting when the bill was signed into law, and have a test suite up and running on generated dummy data with a few people “processing”, “approving”, or “denying” same, all the while watching for and clearing faults in the new version of the process well in advance of the cut over.

    At least they don’t have the chutzpah to mark their vehicles with “to serve and protect.”
