    By his logic, it’s immoral to punish the descendants of slaves for beating anyone.

    Why do I question whether his ancestors were actually slaves — as opposed to emigrating post-Reconstruction — and he’s just trying to capitalize on his own skin color?

    There’s a word for someone who thinks the color of a person’s skin entitles them to special benefits, but he’d apply it to you and I long before admitting it of himself.
