As we all know, or should, politics, especially the politics of “The War On Guns” is a full contact, no holds barred, no quarter asked and none given, winner take all, sport.
One of my classmates in high school spent his Saturdays in the Everglades collecting poisonous snakes for Bill Haast who was the owner/operator of the old Miami Serpentarium. He also kept come of them for himself as pets. Now, it was a bit out of the ordinary for a high school aged young man to have a room with shelves of terrariums, each holding some variety of rattlesnake, cottonmouth moccasin, or the occasional coral snake. He explained that it was all perfectly safe as long as you didn’t treat them like bunny rabbits.
As soon as you forgot that they were poisonous reptiles with no concept of mercy, you would be in serious trouble.
Whenever we’re dealing with the likes of Sara Brady, Chuck Schumer, Dianne Feinstein, or anyone of that ilk, we need to remember that bedroom full of poisonous snakes. As soon as we start thinking of them as normal people who play by any rules but their own, we’re in trouble.
