  1. Our parents had no idea where we were, and didn’t need to. Because, for the most part, we knew where the bad guys were, safely locked away from society. So we got to roam at will, safely, as long as we were home for dinner.

    But nowadays, we let the criminals run free and lock up ourselves, and our children.

    If only “Timmy” hadn’t fallen in the well on nearly every damn episode.

    ‘All 10 of the Miller/Martin farm seasons would for the most part focus on “boy and his dog” adventures with Jeff or Timmy getting involved in some sort of trouble, and Lassie eventually coming to the rescue. ‘

    These days when our dog takes up to hysterical barking at just about anything either my wife or I will remark, “Oh, jeez! Timmy’s fallen in the well again!”
