I guess I don’t understand, the way I read it was he didn’t have anything illegal, and yet he was convicted, and sentenced. What am I missing?
Nothing.
“ATF folks have told me they were not properly demilled and ultimately very easily were assembled to fall into what the law would call a machinegun” Cekada said.
Makes you want to go out and buy a Volvo, doesn’t it?
“There was a guy who published a magazine piece on this a couple of years ago, a guy who took a wrecked Volvo and in about seven hours made a weapon that would fire four or five rounds. So by the legal definition used in this case the Volvo was, technically, a machine gun.” — Chuck Knight
Cekada agrees that possession of toys and useless stuff is criminal. He’s just not sure it’s worth 20 years.
I’ll volunteer for the first one way Mars colonization trip.
