The Second Amendment is the sole focus of this article, not any other policy issues or the reasons Trump wants to end Massie’s political career, nor Massie’s reasons for opposing parts of the president’s agenda.
Team Trump has a mixed 2A record. If I were in KY I might think twice before electing a sycophant who will be asking “how high” when the boss says jump. Choose wisely KY.
Of all the verbiage in the response, the fact that he serves as an instructor is (to me) the most significant. It’s not a reason to prefer him “over” Massie, but at least the prospect of a turnover doesn’t give me an automatic bad feeling in my gut.
It would be interesting to see how Massie would respond to those same questions. Then folks could do a “stare and compare.”
Absent that I see no reason to turn away from one RKBA supporter in favor of another RKBA supporter solely based on Trump’s favor. After all, Trump is obviously better on RKBA issues that either Biden of Harris were or would have been, but Trump’s view of “our big beautiful Second Amendment” doesn’t exactly align with that of the Founders and I trust him around it about as much as I would trust Joe Biden around my grandchildren.
