And, of course, they know exactly where they are.
If I lived in NYC my choices would be: (1) Move the F someplace else or (2) Seriously take up canoeing on the East River.
“Well, you see, Officer Friendly, one day I was out teaching myself how to canoe when, surprise, surprise, the canoe tipped over! Yeah, yeah, cooler, picnic lunch, guns, everything, just sploosh and they were all gone!”
Who cares if it’s unconstitutional? We’ll let the courts battle that out while thousands of people are having their human rights violated. Trust the system!
And suddenly “registered gun owners” get visited by police who received an “anonymous tip”.
“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” — Declaration of Independence
Question becomes, will today’s New Yorkers ever come up with the resolve to do so.
My feeling is , no they won’t. In part because the ones with what used to be called “gumption” are already fleeing NYC as fast as their feet and ca$h can carry them to places like Florida.

Full disclosure, I sold my former house to one.
