We’re the Only Ones Triggering Enough

Police bodycam footage shows he was shot once in the abdomen, less than a second after an officer opened his bedroom door. Lewis appeared to be holding a vape pen, but no weapon … “This police officer fired his weapon less than a second after the door opened. That is about as reckless as a police officer can get,” Rex Elliott, the family’s attorney, said. [More]

We’re the Only Ones Monstrous Enough

Authorities said Bryant lived near the area where Morales was reported missing and alleged that he “dumped her naked body in the woods,” WAGA and WXIA reported, citing a warrant application. The warrant also said the ex-officer is suspected of rape, murder and other felonies, though he hasn’t been charged with those crimes, WXIA reported. [More]

Yep. He definitely should be the “only one” armed, especially in school zones!

We’re the Only Ones Unseeing and Falsifying Enough

Lawyers are set to discuss the federal case against a former Kentucky police officer who fired blindly into Breonna Taylor’s apartment on the night of the deadly raid that left her dead… Hankison was indicted by the U.S. Justice Department last year along with three other officers, one of whom has pleaded guilty to helping falsify the warrant used to enter Taylor’s apartment… [More]

Then we have the ones who want to defund them are also the ones who want them to be the “Only Ones”…

A little help here, Norman?

Text 911 and Die

Ohioans in danger may soon be able to text 911 [More]

I guess, but the same problems of police being minutes away when seconds count and having no duty to protect will still apply. Plus, by the time most victims enter a PIN, pull up the text app and try to type out an intelligible message with shaking thumbs, the danger may be passed — for the attacker, who may be happy for the free phone.

Besides, I never did much subscribe to the “Only Ones” being the only ones, and plan on having my hands full.

Maybe if co-sponsor State Rep. Kent Smith spent less time abetting the undermining of his constituents’ rights and more time protecting and advancing them, the need for such calls would fall dramatically.

What these actions don’t mitigate or excuse is the police opening fire on him immediately after he emerged unarmed from his trailer with his hands raised and his wife directly behind him. [More]

So will the State Bureau of Investigation and the DA aggressively pursue this, and if not, why not?

We’re the Only Ones Unfollowing Enough

Capser alleges that police knew the exact whereabouts of the stolen BMW Brownlee was driving near Soldier Field and began following him just an hour before he shot Dakotah. Because of a non-pursuit policy in place, responding officers had to call off their pursuit of Brownlee and file an eluding report, lawyers say. [More]

Because if you disproportionately stop criminals they won’t be able to disproportionately amass victims, right?

Forget it, Jake. It’s Chi-Town.

We’re the Only Ones Idealess Enough

And the rifle, the weapon that was used, the murder weapon … it was so unusual that the investigators when they were looking into it, and the investigators are all, you know, very familiar with firearms, right, knew all the guns, but when they were looking at this gun, they were like “I have no idea how this is loaded,” the investigators had to watch YouTube videos… [Watch]

So they turn to the “gun community” for help…?

We’re the Only Ones Demolishing Enough

The chief of police in Galveston, Texas, has been placed on administrative leave as the city investigates a botched SWAT raid that caused an estimated $5,000 in property damage to an innocent family’s home. Police subsequently withheld information about the raid, and city officials only learned of it days later following local news reports… [More]

Scare Tactics

The man who was fatally shot by police after entering a Target store in Omaha, Nebraska, armed with an AR-15-style rifle had obtained the weapon just four days earlier at a Cabela’s sporting goods store, police said Wednesday. [More]

And aside from putting Cabela’s on the spot with a fact irrelevant to the situation, the purpose of telling us that is…? Did the guy pass the background check we’re told must be made universal or not?

If it had been four years, they’d simply come up with a different avenue of attack.

Not the ‘Only One’?

In a strongly worded letter to ATF Director Steven Dettelbach, obtained and reviewed by DrydenWire.com, Sheriff Waak states that he will not take any enforcement action on this rule change “or allow any federal agent to take action against his citizens.”

“I stand ready to defend the rights of honest, law-abiding residents here in Polk County,” Waak states. [More]

Physically?

There’s an interview I didn’t have 42 minutes to watch here. I can’t promise you he’ll answer that question.
