Ohio governor candidate’s event canceled over ‘pro-Nazi’ remarks [More]
That’s the narrative the media is going to run with all the way up to the primary. I can understand the restaurant backing out– most operate on such slim profit margins ait probably doesn’t take much to scare them. Nonetheless, they said a lot more than they had to trying to distance themselves.
Samuel Ronan, a former Democratic state and national candidate, attempted to run as a Republican in Ohio’s 15th Congressional District against GOP incumbent Rep. Mike Carey. To do so, he signed a declaration of candidacy — under penalty of election falsification — swearing he was a member of the Republican Party. [More]
In a way, the silence is a positive– it may show the leadership is aware of member sentiment, that not all are kneejerk swallowing the establishment line, and that they want to keep their options open.
I spoke with him in detail a few days back and submitted the results of our talk to Firearms News. My editor tells me it will be online either today or tomorrow and has gotten in under the wire to make the print version, going to press Monday and should in subscriber mailboxes/on news stands for several days before the primary.
I didn’t really know that much about him or what to expect in terms of how deeply and sincerely he would walk the talk, but I gotta say, my conclusion is we’re dealing with the real deal, we’re dealing with someone who doesn’t need to put himself out there for all the crap he’ll have to put up with, and we’re dealing with someone we’ll be damn fortunate to have in office, especially after enduring the wretched likes of Kass-Itch and the bipolar Mike DeWine.
Add in Vivek Ramaswamy declaring ““The idea of a heritage American is about as loony as anything the woke left has actually put up” while working to bring in a demographic that is 83% anti-gun, and readers here know how I feel about that.
If you’re an Ohio (or any other state) gun owner who agrees with me, you’ve gotta see what’s in it for you by spreading the word, getting out the vote, and supporting his campaign with much-needed donations. (I just made out a check he’ll get next week because of the Win-Red processing fee. And in the interest of disclaimers/disclosures, I hadn’t made up my mind to do this until after I’d submitted the mag article for publication.)
Tangentially-Related UPDATE
I couldn’t help juxtaposing watching him handling those guns with this bit of Republican phoniness designed to suck in the gunrubes:

“The idea of a heritage American is [NOT] about as loony as anything the woke left has actually put up,” Mr. Ramaswamy. If you don’t get that, I’m sure Mr. Putsch does.
I did try to give Putsch the benefit of the doubt:
Unfortunately, he didn’t answer any of our questions. Realizing that political campaigns can be all consuming, Firearms News will issue an update if he does.
That said, I expect I’ll vote for Putsch in the primary, although based on my track record at picking political winners, candidates probably shouldn’t want me to.
BFA testifies for SB 278 to permit monetary, punitive damages against cities with gun control [More]
The trouble is it’s ultimately paid for by the productive sector which typically doesn’t vote for Democrats. Personally, I’d like to see public canings, but I understand these things are done incrementally…
A bill working its way through the Ohio legislature would allow residents to sue cities for punitive and/or monetary damages if they try to ignore the state’s preemption laws on guns. [More]
OK, but it’ll be the productive segment paying for the sins of the Democrats. Once that passes, do another making violators personally liable.
Speech and debate clauses weren’t intended to be a license for treason.

Another piece of the Marxist takeover puzzle, where solidifying the “entitlements” of foreign nationals and smearing anyone questioning that as a racist will be a deciding factor in the midterms — not that you’ll hear such direct language from feckless Republicans.
Logically, if you’re going to ban guns and drinking in business establishments, why wouldn’t you preemptively demand the same controls in homes, the places where “domestic violence” can take place? [More]
With complete republican control in Ohio, there is no excuse for the lack of pro-gun wins in 2025, so let your elected officials know you are displeased with their lack of support for the Second Amendment. [More]
The Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) was shelved last December, and lawmakers have done nothing to advance it in nearly a year. Which means the critical time for action is NOW! … With complete republican control in Ohio, there is no excuse for the lack of pro-gun wins in 2025, so let your elected officials know you are displeased with their lack of support for the Second Amendment. Sen. Johnson introduces legislation to fix serious problems in Ohio… SB 278 seeks to add teeth to the law by giving individuals the power to seek punitive damages against cities that pass gun control measures… SB 279 would make it illegal for a business, state agency, or political subdivision from preventing an off-duty law enforcement officer from carrying a firearm. [More]
So those who would impose new laws on us willfully violate what’s already on the books with impunity? Yeah, punishing Democrats would be nice. Too bad it’s not the politicians themselves who have to pay but the poor tax slobs they already overburden.
As for off-duty cops, yeah, I know, it’s another carve out for “Only Ones,” but like I said in my Firearms News report exposing the illegal rule at Youngstown State’s stadium and citing existing Ohio Revised Code:
[T]he issue here is YSU officials do not have authority to override state preemption on gun laws and impose local prohibitions.
So, basically, we’re talking two new laws to enforce two existing laws.
And here you thought government was ludicrously overblown, redundant, and wasteful…
