And the Winner Is…

Casey Putsch lost to Vivek Ramaswamy. [More]

I figured he would, but just because you’re outnumbered doesn’t mean you’re wrong.

Barring unforeseen upheaval, I give Ohio 10 years to go solid blue. And our “gun rights leaders” will have played a big part in that.

And talk about a relevant UPDATE

Secretary of State Frank LaRose is prohibited by Article 15, Section 4 of the Constitution of Ohio from certifying Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy’s results in the Ohio Republican Party nomination for Governor of the state until he confirms he is a Citizen of the United States. [More]

I guess the idea of “Heritage Americans” doesn’t seem so “loony” to him about now. Wouldn’t this be a hoot if Casey won by default? Until Swamp Vichycons started helping Amy Acton by sabotaging him because he ain’t in their Big Club…

UPDATE

Frank won’t know until the promised lawsuit:

Based on reports from the May 2026 Ohio primary, there is no evidence that Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose refused to verify Vivek Ramaswamy’s win or questioned his legal citizenship.

Shameless Plug

The May 2026 edition of Firearms News is now available at diverse and inclusive newsstands throughout the Republic. If you don’t see it where you shop, ask ’em why not. You can also subscribe and save.

Today is Primary day in Ohio, and my articles include “Ramaswamy’s Ohio Governor Bid” (pg. 18) and “Casey Putsch for Ohio Governor: The Real Deal When It Comes to Guns” (pg. 104).

Those Who Do Not LEAR from the Past

My first reply isn’t even to Maximum Warfare Hakeem.

It’s to the privileged of immigrants who says “The idea of a Heritage American is about as loony as anything the woke left has actually put up.”

My people fought in the Big One, V-Man. I thank God for my heritage and strive to be worthy of it.

What did yours do to advance freedom for all?

The Better Choice

Vivek: “The idea of a heritage American is about as loony as anything the woke left has actually put up”; Casey Putsch is the real deal on guns; and in re Democrat/media/Vichycon Alliance allegations of racism… [More]

The post I’m replying to merits your attention, particularly if you’re an Ohio gun owner only influenced so far by Donald Trump, NRA, and Buckeye Firearms.

Nothing to say about the main event?

I have.

In a way, the silence is a positive– it may show the leadership is aware of member sentiment, that not all are kneejerk swallowing the establishment line, and that they want to keep their options open.

Plain Talk, Long Overdue

I spoke with him in detail a few days back and submitted the results of our talk to Firearms News. My editor tells me it will be online either today or tomorrow and has gotten in under the wire to make the print version, going to press Monday and should in subscriber mailboxes/on news stands for several days before the primary.

I didn’t really know that much about him or what to expect in terms of how deeply and sincerely he would walk the talk, but I gotta say, my conclusion is we’re dealing with the real deal, we’re dealing with someone who doesn’t need to put himself out there for all the crap he’ll have to put up with, and we’re dealing with someone we’ll be damn fortunate to have in office, especially after enduring the wretched likes of Kass-Itch and the bipolar Mike DeWine.

Add in Vivek Ramaswamy declaring ““The idea of a heritage American is about as loony as anything the woke left has actually put up” while working to bring in a demographic that is 83% anti-gun, and readers here know how I feel about that.

If you’re an Ohio (or any other state) gun owner who agrees with me, you’ve gotta see what’s in it for you by spreading the word, getting out the vote, and supporting his campaign with much-needed donations. (I just made out a check he’ll get next week because of the Win-Red processing fee. And in the interest of disclaimers/disclosures, I hadn’t made up my mind to do this until after I’d submitted the mag article for publication.)

Tangentially-Related UPDATE

I couldn’t help juxtaposing watching him handling those guns with this bit of Republican phoniness designed to suck in the gunrubes:

Casey at the Bat

He answered the Ohio Gun Owners survey:

A colleague noted whose they did not:

OGO removed the comment.

I did try to give Putsch the benefit of the doubt:

Unfortunately, he didn’t answer any of our questions. Realizing that political campaigns can be all consuming, Firearms News will issue an update if he does.

That said, I expect I’ll vote for Putsch in the primary, although based on my track record at picking political winners, candidates probably shouldn’t want me to.

True Colors

“The idea of a heritage American is about as loony as anything the woke left has actually put up,” he said. [More]

Doubling down, are we?

Not if it’s qualified as being about culturalism. Then it becomes existentially essential.

I’m starting to like this Casey guy more and more.

Vivek’s Annual X® Mass Meltdown: Second Verse, Same As The First

Casey at the Bat

I like this guy’s style and outlook. He’s got a good handle on just about everything.

I’d feel better if his platform actually mentioned what I consider to be the most important indicator for freedom– yeah, I see the photo when you scroll to the bottom of him with a Fudd gun, but some of us need more than that.

Like more of this.

I included an overview of Vivek’s 2A position here. It’s unproven how serious he would be about matching the rhetoric with actions.

I wonder if Casey Putchz would be willing to answer some questions.

We could always ask

Kumbayah, My Lord, Kumbayah!

At last night’s Turning Point USA event, Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy channeled his inner George H. W. Bush, calling for a “kinder and gentler” MAGA movement: No longer should we concentrate on “defeating the left” or “owning the libs.” [More]

Can we all get along?

How many items do these raging Marxist maniacs and their useful idiot apologists have to signal their desire to see us dead before this insulated dope groks we’re talking existential survival here?

The only reason we have Vivek as the nominee instead of a far superior Dave Yost, who had earned his shot, is because the White House is rewarding him for past usefulness but isn’t ready to seat him in the inner circle. Kind of like sending Gavin Newsom ex Kimberly Guilfoyle off to Greece now that Don Jr. has traded up on a newer model…

This is a Job for DOGE

Basically if somebody was trying to subpoena emails of a member of congress because of a potential crime or something, this would allow them to quash such a subpoena. [More]

Musk and Ramaswamy are all over this.

As long as the CR game is played, the bastards will continue to slip stuff in and take stuff out that only few will noticwe, and that will be passed out of desperation or “the government will shut down.”

I’m waiting to see how soon someone will find hidden gun-grabs.
