Gun laws in Tibet are governed by the strict national regulations of the People’s Republic of China, which enforce some of the world’s tightest controls. Civilian firearm ownership is generally prohibited, with exceptions limited to specific hunting permits or, occasionally, for certain ethnic minorities. Personal possession of firearms is forbidden, with guns primarily reserved for military, police, and approved security personnel. Violations, including unauthorized possession, carry severe penalties under Chinese law.
