SWAT, Me Worry?

This week, the home of former senior Trump advisor Steve Bannon was the target of a “swatting,” reportedly over a false report to police alleging that Bannon had shot someone and was actively armed. [More]

It’s something all who are findable in meatspace yet unafraid to take a public stand ought to anticipate and prepare for. In a way, it’s helpful to confirm our most vicious enemies are such personal cowards.

And They’re Not ‘Restricted for Law Enforcement or Government Use Only’?

Wait ’til they find out about the special riot control ammo used on social justice protestors. And the highly lethal kind available to civilians.

Frickin’ Laser Beams

Judge looks to Supreme Court gun ruling as he weighs whether to shoot down Chicago ban on laser sights [More]

This is why, understanding core purpose, “in common use at the time” has to be applied not to what is “popular” with sportsmen, but to what is available on conventional battlefields and to enforcement authorities. Otherwise, a few decades from now, it’ll be semiautos against phased plasma rifles and game over unless a critical mass develops a workaround supply chain.

The Sins of the Father

Aceves’ father was brought in for questioning and told investigators that Aceves had mental illness in the past and had been placed in a mental health facility twice at the age of 16. The father said that Aceves was prescribed medication but that he stopped taking it after a couple of years. Aceves’ father told police that his son had purchased an assault rifle and that family members are scared knowing he has a weapon based on his past behavior. [More]

So who declared him safe enough to let out and why wasn’t refusing his meds grounds to put him back in?

Aceves’ father sounds like a great example of responsibility.

Giving Me the Bird?

Message from a Twitter friend:

I haven’t been seeing your tweets lately, even though I have notification turned on

I tested my usename on some shadowban sites and they show it’s OK, but I figure it doesn’t hurt to ask if anyone else is noticing. Not that I ever get enough regular feedback to know…

The Lawmaker’s Vandal

Democratic Congressional Staffer Caught Vandalizing Posters in Capitol; DOJ won’t Prosecute [More]

Funny, how the people who demand more laws for us get away with personal lawlessness.  What will they do when the law breaks down and more figure out who it’s really been protecting all this time?

A Right to a Speedy Trial Delayed is a Right to a Speedy Trial Denied

From His Prison Cell Oath Keepers Founder Stewart Rhodes Weighs in on Latest Jan. 6 Committee Show Trial Sessions and Bill Barr (AUDIO) [More]

Is it a paranoid conspiracy theory to wonder if some might not want the “seditious conspiracy” charges scrutinized in open court and that prison is just the place to keep that from happening?

Dead-Tree Edition

I talked about “branching out” after the storm. [More]

Yesterday, while enjoying Father’s day by doing six hours of damn yard work, younger feral son Qusay came over on his day off to wish me well and noticed the tree was continuing to split:

There was a lot of weight on that and the slightest swaying in the breeze could have brought the whole thing down, taking down power lines, probably snapping the poles, and doing God-knows-what if a driver happened by at the wrong second.

The city (after I tracked somebody down on Sunday) agreed it was an emergency danger and sent a crew out to take the top off:

Now I’m waiting for my guy to come out and give me a bid on clearing the remains out and another on taking out the rest of the tree if it can’t be saved, my guess being there’s not much point in trying.

The joys of home ownership…

They Don’t Sound So Tough When They’re Howling

This know-it-all, who claims “many years of lethal force training,”  says “No.” I’d like to know who his idiot trainer was and how many students his bullsh!+ advice has endangered so we can warn people about him.

Maybe we should ask “Real Man” how he’d have handled it…

The Kill List

Louder, for those in the back: Donald Trump, his allies, and supporters are a clear and present danger to American democracy. [More]

And we know what violence monopolists like this hag and her allies and supporters want to do to them! All made possible by “democracy.”

Way to play useful idiot, “conservative” judge, and George H.W. Bush appointee Mike Luttig.

Who does this guy think he is? “Conservative” Adam Kinzinger?

The Law is What He Says It Is

Texas federal judge proclaims that he doesn’t read 5th Circuit opinions before second reversal … The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals at New Orleans has reversed a federal judge’s refusal to suppress gun evidence a second time after he declared that he doesn’t read 5th Circuit opinions and stuck to his initial decision. [More]

I wonder what else he considers himself free to ignore, and how long he’s been doing it.

Aim for Insubordination

Commentary: The Subordinate Citizen

And as long as we’re talking Biden administration:

From the Department of I Did That: Literally gaslighting. Note the only word about government actions is blaming the previous administration.

From the Department of For the Children: Object and find yourself on the same extremist watch list as angry parents resisting indoctrination of their children at school.

From the Department of Leadership by Example

Say, gang, I’ve got a swell idea! Let’s let these power-mad, lying destroyers disarm us!
