Lies of Commission

By now you may have heard or seen stories in the media claiming that the firm “representing” Oregon Firearms Federation in our Federal lawsuit is owed thousands of dollars in legal fees. This allegation is false. Maxine Bernstein (mbernstein@oregonian.com; 503-221-8212) a “reporter” for the failing “Oregonian” who made these allegations (which were parroted by others in the cartel media), knows it’s false. Jeez, if we can’t believe a “real reporter,” who can we believe?

I don’t see this up on the OFF Alerts page yet, so I went ahead and posted it to my WoG Placeholder blog.

  1. Most likely he’s simply a disgruntled former employee with a grudge.

However, I can’t rule out that he’s a plant — working on behalf of anti-gun organizations — to distract OFF, smear their name in the press, and bleed their coffers as much as possible. The timing of the headline being published vs. OFF being served certainly is suspicious.

Given that he’s publicly alleging that OFF doesn’t pay their legal team, when — according to OFF — he himself has been paid (albeit not as much as he wants), I wonder if a counter-suit for libel and slander might be fruitful. What he’s saying seems patently untrue, and he seems to be acting with malice.

Then again, that would further distract OFF’s legal teams from their current campaign against Measure 114, so if I were them I’d wait on it.
