  1. Imagine a young woman walking across the street, headed for a Planned Parenthood clinic. Her intent is to have a procedure to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.

In many jurisdictions in the USA, if she makes it across the street safely, and her baby is aborted, neither she nor the provider of the service are subject to any criminal penalties. Yet if a motorist hits her while she is crossing the street, and she looses her baby as a result, the motorist may well be on the hook for the death of the baby she well intended to terminate.

The fact that none of this makes any sense is apparently of no more relevance than some lawmakers wanting to ban firearms purchases and sometimes mere possession of same, particularly of “assault weapons”, by 18 to 20 year old males and some females even though the USC section on Militia Composition and Classes declares that 17 to 20 year olds are in the militia, whether they want to be or not, and subject to call up in times of a crisis.

How are these young men and women supposed to fulfill their militia duties, by tradition reporting in with their own weapons, if they are forbidden to buy and/or possess one?

Perhaps when DOGE if finished figuring out FedGov’s Byzantine financing and payment structures they can pay some attention to such conflicts in America’s laws.
