A US woman who flew to Australia with a gold plated pistol in her luggage has been sentenced to a year behind bars, despite claiming she brought it with her for protection. [More]
Even Aussie’s aren’t allowed to do that.
Good grief, did you see that thing?
What do they mean “wanted to be a clown“…?

“Physically they didn’t touch either of us but mentally we’re both, particularly Nerys is quite distraught because we’re asking ourselves all the what-if questions, what if this had happened, what if silly me I’m there roaring at them, what if they said ‘let’s go and kill the b******’ they could have killed me in a minute flat,” Mr Egan told Sky News. [More]
Yeah, what if they had and he didn’t have a self-defense permit?
What kind of mad control freak could even think something like that up?

NDIS participants and sex workers feel ‘betrayed’ by sexual services funding ban now being in effect [More]
Sorry. My post title just kind of wrote itself.
Y’know, if you have a right to sex, that implies someone can be compelled to give it to you. I’m just envisioning some kind of Christian baker analogy where a provider can’t refuse services to someone whose proclivities they find objectionable.
And what if abled recipients choose to identify as disabled?

‘Bugger it’: Officer’s words before Tasering 95-year-old woman heard in court [More]
In fairness, at the rate she was reported shuffling, she could have completed the Tueller drill in seven minutes…

Perth killer of mother and daughter would have had fewer guns under proposed laws [More]
I know we’re not supposed to ask this, but how many would you need?
And I wonder how WA’s police minister, Paul Papsmear, would react to: “This individual, sadly, was a fit and proper person, right up until the time he committed that act and he was a law-abiding police official right up until he wasn’t”… ?

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the responding officer who took down Cauchi was “certainly a hero” whose actions had saved many more lives. The officer was identified as Inspector Amy Scott. [More]
And how many lives were lost because Amy was the “Only One” with a gun?
Bishop and worshippers attacked in another mass stabbing in Sydney
Who do these people think they are?
“There’s no reasonable excuse to have a knife in public – they are dangerous, they can be used to harm other people,” Queensland Police Minister Mark Ryan said. [Watch]
Same goes for guns unless they’re carried by his enforcers.

The Western Australian government is set to introduce new gun laws, which could be the first of their kind in Australia. A limit for how many guns a licensee can own will be proposed, seeing the number of firearms capped at ten for competitive club shooters. Individual recreational gun users will only be allowed to own five. A voluntary buyback scheme is in the works for those impacted by the proposed changes. The proposed new laws will make Western Australia the first state in the country to impose a firearm cap. [Watch]
Leave it to “real reporters” to call mandates “voluntary” with a straight face.
Hey, are we actually obligated to defend this drunken suicide cult?

“Every Australian and every woman has a right to feel safe.” [Watch]
Feelings, nothing more than feelings…
I guess when the government they’re ignorant enough to vote for won’t allow them to take measures to actually BE safe, self-delusion is all they’ve got left.

The student at Connolly Primary School in the north of Perth came home with a printed activity dice which offered ways it claimed to cheer up dads when they were in a bad mood. One of the options was a bullet – with instructions to take “when all else fails”. [More]
I guess we can’t expect an Aussie grade school to know when our own universities don’t…
Any bets on what would have happened had a father sent that message to the school?
