I just wanted to add this as a footnote to Kansas City’s well-deserved place on this list. It didn’t really seem worthy of a full post.

I for one am shocked that there are no entries for my home state of New Mexico. Blue state with Blue hives and holds the dubious distinction of being ranked first and third for its rates of property and violent crimes, respectively.
