Friends, Ya Got Trouble!

Three University of Iowa students were shot during a fight at the Ped Mall in Iowa City early Sunday morning, according to a statement from the University President. [More]

Who’s surprised by the “persons of interest”?

I was surprised that preemption means it’s not a “gun-free zone.”

Don’t worry– Iowa Satanists are working hard to change that.

Remember when the worst crime Iowans had to worry about was a con man selling band uniforms?

Excreting Sheila from the Body Politic

The momentum for expulsion comes after a House ethics subcommittee found Cherfilus-McCormick guilty of more than two dozen ethics violations in March, including allegations related to stealing millions of disaster relief funds to finance her congressional run. She is also facing a separate federal criminal indictment that could result in more than 53 years in prison if convicted. [More]

What is it with ethical dwarfs supported by prohibitionist groups wanting our guns?

And what is it with voters in her district electing a scumbagette to replace a scumbag?

Adventures in Rigorousness

A Department of Homeland Security official was killed in Georgia by a naturalized U.S. citizen with a prior criminal record, a case that is raising new questions about the federal government’s vetting process after the agency recently acknowledged significant screening gaps. [More]

That’s Why It’s Called ‘Fraud’

Decades of national and state-level data on violent crime, homicide, and mass shooting show no consistent evidence that stricter gun laws reduce overall crime rates. [More]

Right, but as anyone with a brain knows, that’s just an excuse to give the suckers while they’re swindling them out of their rights, and never was what they’re intended to do.

We’re the Only Ones Pyrotechnic Enough

Sheriff’s lieutenant with million-pound fireworks stash led to deadly blast, prosecutors say [More]

This one particularly grinds my gears because I used to work in the fireworks industry in California, initially brought in to help fight multiple municipal ballot measures to ban them. The “rationale” was to blame tepid “safe and sane” fountains for the illegal stuff brought in from Pahrump and beyond.

When I think of what we had to go through to operate in compliance, the worthy nonprofit efforts that were denied a great fundraising tool, the sanctimonioius blue noses who demanded their prejudice ruin things for everybody, and the Democrats who led the efforts to ban them, let’s just say I would not be a very fair juror.

Wiping Off the MAP

WaPo Editor Pleads Guilty in Federal Child Porn Case… He was part of the newsroom team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 2018 for investigative reporting tied to coverage of Roy Moore’s Senate campaign. [More]

So he had three fingers pointing back at him?

What is it about WaPo award winners?

What is it about Pulitzer?

Did someone say “Morbark”?
