Thank you for this.
I never would have known about Gowdy’s article if it weren’t for you.
One problem, among many, is that we’re all like the blind men and the elephant. Many of us, on both sides of the debate, claim we support the Second Amendment without really knowing key facts associated with it. Look at the almost universal ignorance on the holdings of US v Cruikshank and the myths surrounding the original Patriot Day, April 19, 1775, where some 3000 formerly loyal colonists ran, some of them for miles, so as not to miss an opportunity to be one of the first to fire on THEIR OWN TROOPS.
If the powers that be in Mordor On The Potomac had spent any time asking themselves what could possibly drive folks to such an extreme act, no one would be asking any questions about January 6, 2021.
Not enough people are aware of the fact that the USC definition of militia classes include them in the unorganized militia.
Not enough people have challenged Joe Biden to cite the relevant section of USC that forbids ordinary citizens from owning a cannon. He can’t because there isn’t one. Apparently the man in ultimate charge of the DoJ doesn’t know that something isn’t illegal unless it states as much in USC.
Thanks again for reminding us of the work done by David E Young and his two books. Perhaps you could add a pointer to them on your sidebar. If more people read them, and perhaps sent a copy to their congresscritter or local public library, we wouldn’t be in the dismal shape we’re in today.
