Edward Griffin’s exposé on the history of the failed Bricker Amendment that would have prevented this, had not it been opposed by RINOs (apparently including Ike Eisenhower). It’s the tail end of Chapter 15; search for the string “It was the year 1920” and read from there. (Frankly, the 19 paragraphs before that are also valuable history.)
