Wren Collectivists

A consulting firm funded by left-wing billionaires has embedded itself in the offices of 40 progressive prosecutors, where it has quietly helped to craft soft-on-crime policies that now affect 48 million Americans across 22 states. Known as the Wren Collective, the firm provides its services to the prosecutors for free and with no expectation of publicity, according to a new report by the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF). Those who do not learn from history:

Most Russian elites did not support the Bolsheviks; those who did, or allied with them during the revolution, faced severe consequences. Many were executed during the Red Terror or later purged by Stalin, while others survived by concealing their origins or fleeing the country.

It will repeat itself.

Taking the 5th

Boston firefighter faces over 40 charges after failing to turn over firearms following a restraining order [More]

Of interest from the video:

He initially lied about having weapons, but his defense attorney explains those firearms weren’t registered. He hadn’t done them on time.

So if he’d complied with the order and produced the guns, that would have been self-incriminating.

Didn’t the Supreme Court already weigh in on that?

Anybody know who is his attorney is, and if he knows about this?

Ah, here we go.

All we can do is offer:

And There Was War in Heaven

The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) today announced it has issued a subpoena to @Magpul , demanding the release of civilian sales data on standard-capacity magazines after the company refused to cooperate voluntarily for over a year. [More]

Where did the press release go, and why?

We’re the Only Ones Weaker Enough

Two female police officers vs a short maybe 130lb male. Who wins? [More]

And thing is, he didn’t want to hurt them– the ingrained conditioning against hitting a woman still holds in those of us who aren’t savages. If he’d been actually fighting using punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and fought like you would against a man, they’d have had to shoot him, which ought to be a lesson in itself.

And here I’d expected any one of them to be able to do a three-point landing and take out half-a-dozen linebackers…

It’s almost like TV and movies tell us one thing and reality tells us another

Tales of the Expected

Well the 2A movement won’t get good originalist judges without voting, and it won’t get good 2A lawyers without working with and funding pro 2A groups. [More]

The argument that wining elections isn’t needed and that Trump and the courts will save us so we can rest assured the 2A is in no danger is an excuse that doesn’t hold against even minimal scrutiny. It’s also an abdication of self government and of having a hand in saving ourselves.

If someone from on high provides it to you, they own you.

As for the TINVOWOOT crowd, if you’re not willing to use the remarkable system bequeathed to us by the Founders to do the easy things, I question how effective and organized you’ll be if the things we can still take for granted get existential and deadly.

Still, I fully expected most to not give a damn and the ones who do weigh in to justify lack of action with excuses. Call it the curse of Cassandra or attribute it to an inflated ego. That doesn’t alter a basic truth– if you don’t put work into something, don’t expect it to give you what you want.

We’re the Only Ones Hotdogging Enough

‘Handsome’ Hawaiian police dog dies after being left in hot car by handler… “The K9 handler involved in this case is devastated as you would expect,” Mahuna said. [More]

“Devastated”?

Not “fired”?

Not “arrested and prosecuted,” as would happen to any one of us if we killed a K9 in self-defense, and in a much quicker and more humane way?

It’s not like this hasn’t happened before.

This take on the story seems more accurate than the “news” headline.

And So It Begins

Democrat Walkinshaw wins special congressional election where Trump loomed large – Democrat wins Virginia special election seat after voters ‘send a statement’ on Trump policies [More]

Ready to see that happen again and again?

Yeah, but it was a Democrat district.

Making excuses and doing nothing else will ensure more Democrat districts.

Without Coordination, Money and Boots on the Ground, Virginia Will Be Lost to the Gun Prohibitionists

Fusaro has offered a detailed plan, and good one. It’s up to NRA and VCDL to share what plans they have developed to see how their detailed strategies compare… [More]

What happens here will be a bellwether for the midterms. We’re either serious about this — and willing to do all the necessary things — or we’re not and we won’t.

Look at This Haul of Fabulous Prizes!

The Hottest Guns!
Great Gear!
Fantastic Hunts! [More]

I really am so out of tune with fellow gun owners that I’ll always just be a fringe guy in a niche. I have never grokked why they need to be offered incentives to do the right thing (and that’s assuming donating money here would be the right thing).

Maybe that’s why this campaign will rake in tons of dough while I can’t even get but a handful to help a friend in need, share a link, or lift a finger to advance a joint effort we’d all benefit from.

I wonder what kind of merchandise they offered to get farmers to show up at Lexington and Concord…?

We’re the Only Ones Gulling Enough

Safe firearm storage just got more accessible in San Francisco. Mayor Daniel Lurie and Supervisor Stephen Sherrill on Thursday announced a first-of-its-kind program that allows residents to drop off their guns at any of the city’s 10 police stations, where San Francisco police will securely store them for up to a year at no cost. [More]

And best of all, it’s the brainchild of someone with fatally poor judgment in the men she sleeps with!

Question: If they really believe San Franciscans are this stupid, and based on voting patterns that can’t be far off, how is it they’re qualified to handle and transport firearms safely and legally from their homes to the designated drop-offs? It’d be something if some well-intentioned dupe who didn’t pay attention to the details came strolling into a station holding a gun to lock up only to be blown away by panicking Only Ones…

It’s be even funnier if a gun turned in for storage ended up at a crime scene…
