The Company They Keep

Joe Biden campaign donor Alex Murdaugh was charged Thursday with killing his wife and 22-year-old son. The lawyer representing the accused murderer, who faces a slew of additional charges for financial fraud and illicit drug distribution, is also a Biden donor. [More]

Let me guess: With a gun?

Oh, guns, plural, including a “weapon of war”:

Paul was shot in the chest and head with a shotgun at close range. Maggie was shot multiple times, including one shot in the back and additional shots while she was lying on the ground. She had been shot with 300 Blackout ammo from an AR-style rifle.

If he needed more than three shots to kill them he has no business murdering anyone.

Protection Racket

Weeks after she was denied a protection order, a Michigan woman and her family are dead – A judge denied the order June 27, saying there was insufficient evidence of immediate or irreparable injury. The woman and her family were found dead Sunday, officials said. [More]

The prohibitionists will say this proves the need for “red flag laws.”

Who thinks a piece of paper would have stopped this maniac or prevented him from getting his hands on whatever he wanted for a butchery spree?

Look what they (purposely) didn’t tell us when they report he “bought a gun.”

The only way to prevent such atrocities, proven once more, is to separate the threat from the victim pool. With full due process.

That may not be foolproof? Anybody see any guarantees in life? And a system could be set up that would do that and do a much better job of considering individual circumstances and probabilities than one-size-fits-all prior restraints.

The alternative is denying rights to the innocent. We call governments that do that “tyrannical” for a reason. We’re supposed to accept that because of statistically rare aberrations lawmakers refuse to more effectively address, mostly for political reasons?

Precision Planning Pays Off

King, a teacher at a nearby school, also expressed concerns over the weapons found amid a recent wave of recent mass shootings. “To see weapons like that, rifles, stuff that could do damage, serious damage,” she said. “Weapons that could hurt anybody, especially children, from far away, with precision… That is just so incredibly disturbing.” [More]

Shotguns. And she teaches.

Ignorance exploitable through fear is precisely what the citizen disarmament swindlers are relying on.

New York, New York, It’s a Wonderful Town!

Ask the Experts!

While most experts say comprehensive gun control is still the best solution to mass shootings… [More]

Well, that right there tells me I can’t trust a thing that follows. That and blocking access to what AoL considers “extreme,” blaming “racism” i.e. traditional American culture, and adding in a dash of “equity” collectivism…

Besides, when they emphasize “young men and boys,” how are we supposed to define either?

I don’t suppose beating unforgiving woke culture into young skulls from an early age perverts minds and instills an obsession for exacting revenge against institutions perceived as sources of torment…?

And how are you going to “combat” $h!+ when you don’t even mention the only deterrent proven to stop manufactured monsters in their tracks except to say we need to prohibit that?

Collateral Damage: Arizona drug dealers becoming arms dealers online [Watch]

Anybody know what the legal and jurisdictional provisions with ATF are for the cop to retain possession of an illegally modified gun to fire and hand off to the reporter?

The other thought that strikes: You could give such a gun to me and anyone in my circle of friends and relatives and there would be zero chance of us doing anything predatory with it.

The final thought that strikes: I’d like to see somebody try that mod with a .45 🙂

The Gun’s Fault

Officers, who also worked with the FBI on the case, arrested and charged Julio Alvarado-Dubon with being a non-U.S. citizen in possession of a firearm on Friday. A second suspect, Rolman Balacarcel, was surveilled by police throughout the holiday weekend and arrested and charged on the same count on Tuesday. [More]

I wonder if it’s the same one.

July 4 shooting: Social media companies a ‘big part’ of shooting, not sharing content with police, says ex-cop [More]

The guy is coming from an “Only Ones” mindset, so it figures that would be his top concern.

Even more objectionable in the long run: Doing this in all such cases removes a major source of information with context from being investigated, forcing us to rely on an official government narrative shaped by what it wants us to know and doesn’t want us to know for reasons it won’t share because they conflict with the tightening of the grip.
