We’re the Fauxnly Ones Sobering Enough

Man accused of impersonating officer to stop drunk driver in Lincoln [More]

It’s insidious, because we’re conditioned to submitting to authority as a survival strategy, but as we just saw with that psychopathic freak in Minnesota, doing so can have lethal consequences.

That’s why when I do these posts I caution that the day may come when we may need an “I did not believe they were real cops” defense to justify resistance, and it wouldn’t hurt to be able to document such fears are not unfounded.

A New York State of Mind

NYC councilmember urges residents to take up arms after robbers tied up Queens family in shocking home invasion: ‘Constitutional right’ [More]

Shows ya what I know. I didn’t think NYC had “Republican” council members.

Anyway, what are these “gun permits” she says she’s going to help her constituents obtain, and what do they have to do with the Second Amendment?

They all know there’s a difference between purchase and carry permits, don’t they?

Motor Voters

FBI Director Kash Patel dropped a bombshell Monday evening, handing Congress an intelligence report that raises serious questions about China’s role in the 2020 election. According to the report, Chinese operatives mass-produced counterfeit U.S. driver’s licenses as part of a broader scheme to flood the system with fake mail-in ballots—benefiting… you guessed it… Joe Biden. [More]

I wondered if there were election implications in the Florida DMV fraud with real licenses…

A Case for Clemency?

He may have been doing business with a cartel front in Tucson, but all Reynolds’ own businesses appear to have been legitimate. And, as Reynolds said, when he declined to become an informant, the feds turned on him. [More]

Or as an earlier report speculates:

“A black NRA member sitting in a prison for terrorists may be the missing link in Fast and Furious”

Beats me. First I’m hearing of it. Nothing about the guy on SSI, either. Which just means there’s plenty not known and very little incentive for most to pursue things.

Regardless, there appear to be many loose ends and questions that cry for reopening this case. I wonder if those calling for that have made a serious effort to get a dialog going with Harmeet Dhillon?

As the Amendments Fall

“The right to counsel is not a luxury,” said MACDL President Shira Diner. “It is a bedrock principle of our justice system, guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment and by Article 12 of the Massachusetts Declaration of Rights. When people are jailed without lawyers, the system ceases to be just—or constitutional.” [More]

Let’s try this again with a few word substitutions:

“The right to arms is not a luxury. It is a bedrock principle of our system, guaranteed by the Second Amendment and by Article 17 of the Massachusetts Declaration of Rights. When people are disarmed without being adjudicated with full due process and incarcerated, the system ceases to be just—or constitutional.”

This mob of protesters tried to win a wrestling match with a Kia Forte [More]

Hilarity ensues.

Coincidentally, my kid sister texted me this the other day.

Defensive driving ought to be immune from criminal and civil charges, and any determination that it was not defensive demands full due process. Because a lot of us remember the alternative:

So… how will the prosecutors and drivers’ insurance companies handle this?

We’re the Only Ones Inaccessible Enough

It is clear the FBI does not want anyone outside the FBI to analyze the NICS data, or to have access to the data showing the statistics of errors in the NICS data. [More]

That’s their call…why?

And why aren’t gun owners flooding Kash Patel and Dan Bongino’s X feeds demanding compliance?

DIY?

If it’s legal to “homebrew” so to speak in the vernacular, a home-made 3D Printed or complete an 80% handgun and or rifle, WITHOUT DOTGOV PERMISSION OR PAPERWORK then, by extent, wouldn’t the same exact legality apply to “homebrewed” hushpuppies and all the rest of the happy-time fun toys??? And props for remembering R.A. Bear.

Some, if you read the comments here, don’t want us to.

Suppressor and Short Barrel Firearm Fight Shows Many U.S. States More Prohibitive Than Some Foreign Countries

…Republicans are looking to Parliamentarian of the Senate Elizabeth MacDonough to make her determination on if such measures will survive the “Byrd bath” or become “Byrd droppings.” [More]

Politicians sure do come up with all kinds of convoluted complications over something as simple as “shall not be infringed.”

RELATED UPDATE

I ended the piece with GOA’s latest announcement that “the Senate’s version of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” now includes full repeal of the $200 NFA tax on: Suppressors Short-barreled rifles (SBRs) Short-barreled shotguns (SBSs) “Any Other Weapons” (AOWs).”

Here’s the rev. of the bill. Start on pg. 261.
