Although the sponsors have attempted to sell this legislation as a bill that would “close a loophole in Colorado’s magazine capacity limit laws“, it took all of 90 seconds for gun owners and activists to realize this had nothing to do with magazines at all, but was instead a sweeping gun ban cloaked in lies, and once the complex and technical language was broken down, it became apparent how severe it was: worse than anything we have ever seen before. And when they get that, they’ll go after something else, because of course they’re talking about taking your guns.

A quick read of the bill, SB 947, will show it to be a clumsy and poorly crafted effort to reinvent the meaning of the word “militia” with the single purpose of telling the people of Oregon that they are not part of what we all know they are part of and to further remind us that all power is vested in the military as controlled by Tina Kotek and the people are merely subjects. “They sell weapons to drug cartels… the fact is that the Ukrainian military sells a huge percentage, up to half of the weapons we send them. And this is not my guess. This is a fact. Not speculation. They sell it, and a lot of it ends up with drug cartels on our border. So this is a crime,” Carlson said, quoted by RIA Novosti. [More]
If true, it should be provable from “crime scene” serial numbers, like in Fast and Furious . If not, a correction and apology are in order.

Today, Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13) reintroduced the No User Fees for Gun Owners Act. This legislation would prohibit any state or local government from requiring insurance, taxes, user fees, or similar burdensome charges as a condition for the continued ownership of firearms, pistols, or revolvers. By suppressing our work, they suppress our political action.
Their sucking up to Trump has to do more than just stoke the guy’s ego. A “Second Amendment President” would be calling them out on algorithms that discriminate against one of his core constituencies.
But back to the resason for this post: Sign GRNC’s petition.

“This is an important ruling in a case that has been up and down the Illinois judicial ladder a couple of times already,” noted SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb. “We expect the state to appeal again, which could put the case right back before the Illinois Supreme Court for the third time, and we are confident we will win. It’s hard to see how the Illinois Supreme Court avoids the constitutional issue, as they have done on the previous two visits.” [More]

Under an expired contract, pay for sergeants starts at $98,000 and is capped at $118,000 after roughly five years, according to the NYPD’s Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA). Patrol officers top out at $115,000 – meaning hundreds of sergeants make less than thousands of rank-and-file cops who have reached top pay for their position. [More]
