America spent years turning the vice president into a joke. In the end, she might get the last laugh. [More]
Seems to me she’s done that all by herself.
From the very beginning.
Newsom backing her I understand. He wants a seat on the ticket and is counting on her to totally foul things up if elected so he can move in, or to ingratiate himself if she picks someone else. The Clintons are playing a high stakes poker game of their own. But the big news, in my mind, is this:
Obama, 62, was joined by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in not immediately backing the 59-year-old vice president — following reports last week that both favored an “open” process to replace Biden.
They must have a different bloc of backers and they don’t think Kamala can win. And he can be the only one who introduces the sentinment that it might not end up being her, because we’ve already seen race-based entitlement threats to “blow up the party” if Dems pick someone else. Interesting verb, considering…
The real danger no one in the DSM is talking about is what are we to make of foreign power rivals and enemies seeing the present leadership vaccuum with the Dotard-in-Chief too incapcitated to campaign but supposedly capable of still handling the presidency? The only thing that might stop them would be they realize just because the figurehead has been shown hollow, the machine that manipulated it is still operating behind the scenes.
All I can say about any of this: Don’t be surprised if there are big surprises.
