Stranger in a Strange Land

I used to call it “home,” but “thanks” to “redistricting,” that home is now in the solidly Democrat 13th Congressional District instead of the solidly Republican 14th, as the demographics in each show.

I used to complain about Dave Joyce being a GOP lump. At least he’s not a “rising star” like Emilia Sykes, whose Congressional Black Caucus-sponsored ads relied heavily on accusations of Republicans being “white supremacists trying to steal our votes.”

“Taxation without representation” used to be a call for resistance. I’m taxed up the wazoo and it’s certainly not me she’s representing.

Professor: Asking questions about candidate’s stroke is ‘eugenics’ and ‘ableism’ [More]

Yeah, since when do “progressive” politicians have to be capable, competent, or even conscious?

The only time a heartbeat shouldn’t qualify is if it’s coming from a fetus, right, “Professor”?

At Odds with the World

An annual transfer of funds from rich to poor countries, starting at around $2 trillion by 2030 and rising thereafter, is needed for climate “justice” according to a U.N.-backed report released Tuesday. China has been specifically excluded from the demand for reparations, which includes taxes for fossil fuel companies on their global “carbon profits,” even as the Communist state’s greenhouse gas emissions now exceed the entire rest of the developed world combined. And no one in a position of authority here has told them to go f*** themselves?

Disorder in the Court?

A divided U.S. appeals court on Monday upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit against Remington Arms over a trigger defect in one of its rifles that allegedly led to the accidental shooting death in 2011 of an 11-year-old boy by his 15-year-old brother in Mississippi. [More]

Yeah, I know, all guns are always loaded, and never point one at anything you’re not willing to destroy, but if the trigger really was defective and the gun really was prone to firing spontaneously, this sounds like they won one they should have lost and surrendered one they should have won.

I don’t know how you can have a ‘three-year clock” involving a homicide

Oh Canada

By the end of September, officials representing the Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba governments had notified Marco Mendicino, the federal minister responsible for implementing Prime Minister Trudeau’s gun ban and confiscation law, that they would not authorize the use of provincially-funded resources to implement the program within their jurisdictions. Since then, officials in Yukon and New Brunswick have likewise expressed the view that the federal gun grab should not be piggybacked on provincial resources. [More]

Naval records confirm Clyde Shavers lied about military experience [More]

Unsurprisingly he tries to deflect by conflating the father his leftist politics have disappointed with “insurrectionists.”

I don’t know what the big deal about lying is. Doing it about guns “earned” him a plum endorsement.

Hold the phone just a damn second here…

Over at the Wilson Combat site, they say “The 6mm ARC was designed by Hornady to be the highest performance long-range cartridge available in a standard AR platform rifle. Initially tested and fielded by US Special Operations forces…

“Combat…”?

“Special forces…”?

Mr. Biden’s not going to like that.

I’ve been corresponding with Herschel since like forever, but we’ve never met in real life and I don’t recall if I’ve ever seen a picture of him before. It’s nice seeing him looking vigorous and happy, which, knowing you’ve achieved something through your efforts, perseverance and skill can bring out in us all.
