Got a Minute?

That’s how long it took me to take the White House up on it’s invitation and send it Executive Order idea requests to include gun owner representatives on the Second Amendment Task Force, end the ban on private arms at military bases, and order the Army Corps of Engineers to finalize and implement the rule to allow guns on lands it controls.

Literally less than a minute for each of these. Of course, the various options for communicating I’ve already included in my articles are also easily doable.

Funny thing is, all three articles have generated plenty of comments, mostly petty squabbling, but I’m having a hard time finding more than a handful saying “Yes, I have done this and urged my friends to do it, too.”

I have Constitutional concerns about overreach, too, but this is different.

If a judge has personal skin in the game that makes impartiality impossible, isn’t he supposed to recuse himself?

Senior District Judge Charles R. Breyer, in violation of his oath of office, did knowingly and willfully use his judicial position to advance political gain while interfering with the President’s constitutional prerogatives and enforcement of the rule of law.

Why doesn’t this “news” story, affecting voter perception, mention that?

Do any?

And what’s in it for Democrats to let violence and chaos reign?

Hypocrisy was on full display on Wednesday’s Morning Joe as New York Times columnist David French joined the MSNBC show to discuss how Democrats should respond to President Trump on crime. Despite all the claims that Trump would be abusing his authority if he deployed the National Guard to blue cities, French, who, despite endorsing Kamala Harris, fancies himself as one of the few remaining principled conservatives left in America, advised Democrats to blame Trump for the 2020 crime crisis. Talk about gun control! This is what some are calling “pragmatic”? This line in particular recalls nothing so much as what Captain Kirk said to Jojo Krako:

Such ownership would not dictate policy from above, nor should it. But it would create a built-in incentive for the government to preserve a healthy firearms ecosystem.

Who’s dictatin’? We’re incentivizin’!

But there are some concerns about how he’s going about the “cleanup” that a few of us are concerned about that his apologists are dismissing as the gripes of disgruntled naysayers who only focus on the bad and ignore everything good he’s done.
