Because so far, their most successful weapon has been to call citizen disarmament “commonsense gun safety,” and someone who wants to ban them all neutralizes another lie.
Maddeningly, there’s one other in-your-face position the gun groups still aren’t ready (are too craven) to exploit, undeniably spelled out in his acceptance speech, acknowledging the supporters giving power to his subversion:
I speak of Yemeni bodega owners and Mexican abuelas. Senegalese taxi drivers and Uzbek nurses. The administration should use what it can control as leverage over what it cannot. The president is at the apex of his power in deciding which foreigners to admit. This is true from both a legal and practical standpoint. He should issue a proclamation under 8 U.S.C. 1182(f) declaring that no new immigrants will get in until everyone who should be deported is gone. [More]

That’s just a way to make excuses for the subversive scam of teachers’ unions, where incompetence is a feature, not a bug. Create chaos and dependency through indoctrination and ignorance, and add in importing pathway-to-citizenship foreign nationals whose countries can somehow churn out employees with superior technical abilities on a pittance of what we spend per capita on students, and you have all the ingredients for control — of all kinds.
