Friends of the Court vs. Friends of the Devil

Attorney General McCuskey leads SCOTUS amicus brief challenging D.C.’s high-capacity magazine and assault weapons ban [More]

This…

And significantly better than and different from a case we discussed yesterday:

III.Courts Are Incorrectly Analogizing …11

A.The Second Amendment Goes Beyond The Individual Right To Self-Defense … 12

B.Narrowing Heller To Only Self-Defense Leads To Poor Analogical Reasoning … 15

Ignoring Core Purpose Makes 2nd Amendment More Vulnerable to Infringements: The Militia Aspect, Part 1 and Part 2.

The only question left: Why can’t Pam Bondi file an amicus brief supporting this?

The Surly Bonds of Earth

The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane. This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!! [More]

To my admittedly untrained eye, and I’m evidently not the only one, it looked deliberate. Am I wrong to question?

We need information on the principals involved.

Life in the Mehtaverse

Oath Keepers founder Rhodes is barred from entering Washington or Capitol without court permission [More]

I guess that’s the difference between “commute” and “grant a full, complete and unconditional pardon”…

That said, it’s difficult to understand how this is anything more than an in-your-face by a leftist immigrant

And, oh, look: The Justice Department can use its resources to protect rights.

When it wants to.

The Way Things Oughta Be

How Congress can end DC’s lawfare and one-party federal bias [More]

What a logical and insightful plan Glenn H. Reynolds has laid out for us.

Meaning there ain’t a chance in hell the string-pullers will ever let it out of the “conservative” echo chamber, let alone allow their political minions, who wouldn’t be inclined anyway, to do anything with it unless it meant more power for themselves…

We’re the Only Ones Opening Fire Enough

As the sedan approached the agent, a confrontation occurred between the agent and the car’s occupants. The agent discharged their service weapon, but there is currently no evidence to indicate anyone was struck… [More]

How close? Did the occupants fire? Did he at least hit the car? And since we’re talking a Democrat administration, are the suspects “overrepresented in the justice system”?

A Public/Private Partnership

This lengthy lawsuit by the Maryland and D.C. attorneys general, as well as Everytown Law, accuses Engage Armament, LLC, United Gun Shop and Atlantic Guns, Inc. of ignoring clear signs of illegal gun sales. The lawsuit claims the purchases happened in Montgomery County, but led to gun violence across the area. [More]

Of course “background checks” aren’t enough — they were never intended to be.

I’m just surprised NSSF hasn’t joined in the pile-on.

Sonia Sotomayor saved from danger: Supreme Court Justice’s bodyguard shoots gun-wielding suspect who tried to steal his car outside her DC home [More]

Not that she wants you to be able to do that:

“In sum, the Framers did not write the Second Amendment in order to protect a private right of armed self defense.” — Sotomayor, with the dissent in McDonald

A Matter of Priorities

The Washington D.C. prosecutor’s office that targeted January 6 protesters, including a 71-year-old great-grandmother known as the “Praying Grandma,” decided to drop charges of kidnapping and murder against a young woman who carjacked a vehicle carrying a sick woman then crashed the car, resulting in the sick woman’s death. Bidenschwein, Bidenschwein, Every Morning You Greet Me

A Google search of the term brings up various images (search at your own risk) depicting the former president as, well, a pig. With a swastika armband. That suggests the characterization started online and was adopted later by people in the president’s orbit. [More]

The national socialists are projecting again, I see…

And remember: It’s not just Trump they’re referring to.

And they demand we surrender our guns.

We’re the Only Ones Bad Apple Dealing Enough

DC police dealt thousands of guns; ATF demands answers after concerning number found at crime scenes … So many guns recovered at crime scenes, in such a brief period, that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives placed D.C. police into a program designed to give extra scrutiny to dealers with higher levels of so-called crime guns. [More]

Oops…

So when are the grabbers gonna sue them?

How Much More ‘Pro-Criminal’ Does She Have to Be?

“The vote on Secure DC is only necessary due to the reckless, pro-criminal and anti-police policies Councilmember Nadeau has championed over her last decade in office,” the Committee to Recall Brianne Nadeau said in a statement. [More]

Not the Democrat who hosted Moms Demand and whose staffer was arrested on “felony charges for assault with a deadly weapon” when he got into a shootout in front of a “marijuana pop up”…?
