David Codrea breaks news on AAR! [Listen]
Yesterday’s program discussed the effect of the Hunter Biden plea deal implosion on my FOIA request, and a new FOIA on the FBI presuming authority to create a new class of “prohibited person.”

After all, the first FOIA request was initially balked at by questioning my qualifications as a journalist, then claiming no records could be found, then saying they withdrew that, and finally declaring they shouldn’t have responded at all because Biden’s privacy interests made the requested documents none of the public’s business. Now they’re saying they can’t answer the second FOIA request because of “ongoing litigation.” [More]

Investigators say the “AR-15 style rifle” used during the home invasion was an “Airsoft” rifle, which are considered toys that fire non-lethal projectiles. [More]

Hunter Biden’s plea deal fell apart during his first court appearance Wednesday morning as he pleaded “not guilty” and federal prosecutors confirmed the president’s son is still under federal investigation. [More]
ATF just denied my latest FOIA request on the grounds that there’s an ongoing investigation. I’m looking into options, but this will no doubt delay things further, perhaps indefinitley, and part of me wonders if that’s the plan.
Even this guy’s lawyers are crooked.
“They are monitoring this guy for doing what millions of other hobbyists do—selling part of their personal collection. That’s not a crime, but apparently ATF doesn’t like people turning over their guns at a high rate” … [More]
Tell that to John Shipley.

FPC AND FPCAF WIN: Fifth Circuit Denies Government Attempt to Reinstate ATF’s Redefinitions of “Frame or Receiver” and “Firearm” [More]
So what about the government’s ability to redefine bump stocks as machineguns and when will all this legal gobbledegook translate into getting my property back?

Bass Pro Shop’s Background Check Policy Raises Questions [More]
After seeing how Morehouse was retaliated against with a bend-and-spread-’em audit that had the goal of finding something, anything, to revoke its FFL, and noting the anal levels ATF stoops to over “Don’t Lie for the Other Guy” (enthusiastically partnered with by NSSF), over-cautiousness is inevitable, especially where corporate timidity over anything controversial is the rule.

Biden loses ‘ghost gun’ case, ATF ban ‘unlawful’ [More]
This is by no means a done deal, but it does raise hopes for bump stocks and stabilizing braces, and for checks and balances.

It would be hard to convince me that this is a normal routine inspection and not an effort at retribution by the Justice Department and their henchmen at BATFE. [More]
Biden’s DOJ puts the squeeze on an FFL who’s suing over bump stocks. The tyrannical pettiness reminds me of Red’s Trading Post.
So if it’s not happenstance and it’s not a coincidence, what does that leave us?
I became aware of this soon after I announced my slowdown. I was thinking of maybe doing an article, but I couldn’t do a better job than John Richardson has done, so why not just go read what he has to say?
