Hudson is one of those “liberal” white supermajority Republican towns that prides itself on its welcoming tolerance and abolitionist history (John Brown’s tannery farm is right around the corner from me, much of his family is buried here. and one of our streets is named after his father, Owen). Crime, especially the violent kind, is a rare anomaly. We did have a homicide a couple years back, but it too was committed by an out-of-towner the authorities and media feared to fully describe.
