For Appearance’s Sake

Biden administration waives 26 federal laws to allow border wall construction in South Texas [More]

There’s an election coming up and they need to make it look like they’re on top of things.

That said, the Executive “waiving” duly enacted federal laws, even corrupt, evil, and absurd ones, seems to throw separation of powers checks and balances out the window. I wonder what a FOIA request to DHS would reveal about the political motives behind this move– assuming they didn’t stonewall until after the election…

The real meat of this story is in the last paragraph: As with ATF and its “rulemaking,” DHS is reversing its previous position on a wall without explanation, and just building a section leaves plenty of room to go around on both ends.

Good thing this has nothing to do with that “single issue.” And I have that on good authority.

And I’m Proud To Be an American Where At Least I Know I’m Free

U.S. Government Now Confiscating Private Legal Fund Donations to Jan. 6 Defendants [More]

How is that not unmasked tyranny?

And why are they evidently so confident that Americans are going to continue putting up with it?

Oh, and good points about Trump.

Making It Illegaler

Rep. Chip Roy Introduces Bill to Keep Non-Citizens From Voting, Thwarting Democrat Election Strategy [More]

Loophole? What loophole?

Under the new bill, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would be required to provide citizenship status information to states if they are asked for it.

And if they don’t want to ask for it?

Democrats screaming “Racism!” and “Disenfranchisement!” in 3…2…1…

Breaking Up is Hard to Do

So the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is celebrating its 20th birthday—the perfect opportunity to rethink the whole concept of “homeland security” and how to best provide it. DHS has grown into a monster that is massively expensive, incredibly ineffective, and reliably destructive of basic civil liberties. It’s time to abolish it and replace it with fewer, smaller, and more accountable agencies. [More]

First, let’s talk about what those agencies would be Constitutionally authorized to do.

Nothing to See Here

DHS has a program gathering domestic intelligence — and virtually no one knows about it [More]

In fairness, most of the DSM has been busy parroting the narrative du jour and they aren’t really intended or qualified to do any “real reporting.”

Besides, it’s not like most Americans will ever read this or grasp the implications and do something about them if they did.

We’re the Only Ones Ride Sharing Enough

Nelson drove the GOV, that he agreed to use only for HSI duty purposes, while working for Amazon, Uber, and Lyft during time periods he was supposed to be working for HSI. [More]

Hey, he didn’t violate policy, did he?

I had a job that required a lot of driving a company car once. I couldn’t have gotten away with this for two days. What does it say about the effectiveness of a “Homeland Security” agency that lets it go on for almost two years?

Do As We Say

DHS Did Not Consistently Comply with National Instant Criminal Background Check System Requirements…DHS has more than 6.4 million incomplete NICS records… [More]

And what happens when we don’t comply with their rules?

Still, maybe we’ve got registration all wrong and the safest place for gun records is with the government…

The Keys to the Kingdom

For the fourth time since 2007, an internal audit shows the Department of Homeland Security isn’t deactivating access cards in the hands of ex-employees, leaving its secure facilities vulnerable to intruders. [More]

Their name is what’s known as an oxymoron.

Then again, it doesn’t seem much of a stretch to assume there are evil minds behind letting disposable incompetents believe themselves to be in charge.

Bordering On Treason

Mitt Romney, Susan Collins Dismiss the Idea of Impeaching DHS Chief Mayorkas [More]

They’re right, but for the wrong reasons. Of course he’s a disloyal subversive.

This is just noisemaking by Republicans pushing for it. They know the Party failed in what it should have focused on: making sure it had the votes.

Confessions of a ‘Rightwing Extremist’

The United States remains in a heightened threat environment. Lone offenders and small groups motivated by a range of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances continue to pose a persistent and lethal threat to the Homeland. [More]

Jeez, guys, all I had planned for this weekend was to put up the tree, send some cards, do some background research for some articles and maybe get a draft done. That and spend some quality time with my family and make dinner Saturday night.

Honest.

Like Peas and Carrots

Efforts to track foreign mis- and disinformation under former President Donald Trump have since been “perverted” under President Joe Biden to increasingly monitor what Americans say on social media, former Trump administration officials told the Daily Caller. [More]

Using “perverted” and “Biden” in the same sentence seems … unsurprising…

Meanwhile, Over at the Heart of Darkness…

It doesn’t matter what brand your politics is, this is Stasi stuff. [More]

Which is why they’re so intent on declaring anyone who knows that an enemy of the state… and noting how far they’ve dumbed down their constituents, all they have to do is scream “Racist!” and “Nazi!” and their DSM functionaries will do the rest.

Your Tax Dollars at Work

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which recently said that questioning official narratives on matters like coronavirus policies constitutes a terrorist threat, has awarded nearly $700,000 to left-wing researchers to study radicalization in video games, with a focus on “white supremacy.” [More]

Seems kind of like a bullet fee, doesn’t it?
