I’ll take the side that an uninvited and unpredictable animal in my home, two-legged or four — is fair game. And while I never personally have trophy-hunted, I understand that aside from monetary benefits to the society that facilitates it, there is also another group that (unsurprisingly) benefits.

As for bringing God’s will into the argument, I confess I’m out of my depth (show me a human being who isn’t), but would not discount citing “mighty hunter before the Lord” Nimrod and “cunning hunter” Esau, or Genesis 9:3.

And loaves and fishes appear problematic, PETA hysteria notwithstanding.

As for non-food uses, I ain’t givin’ up my Center for Biological Diversity gorilla hand ashtray.

Oops, I see I made a typo.

I could say I was keyboarding it one-handed while my three-year-old granddaughter was trying to climb up into my lap because she wanted me to go to YouTube and sing the Sponge Bob song with her, or I could say I did it on purpose because I was trying not to offend Allah.
