Democrats Gone Silent

Picture I took in Ukraine a few months ago. 50 dollar over the counter Suppressors. The upper end ones were about $425 at the time. [More]

Now note how many gun-grabbers here in the land of the Second Amendment who make up all kinds of lies to deny this to you have a “#Slava Ukraini” hashtag in their social media profiles.

They were all silent when the biggest case for an armed populace opened up before their eyes, too.

Bringing Home the Bacon

Key House GOP moderate Don Bacon won’t seek re-election [More]

So, a Republican adopting Antifa language and calling MAGA “Nazis” is what we’re calling “moderate” these days…?

At least he was OK on guns

But then he went and played right into Democrat hands to undo it all by supporting “expanding legal immigration and opening pathways for immigrants to earn U.S. citizenship or a legal status, including those in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.”

Justice Filing Brief in Illinois Gun Ban Case a Long Overdue Change in Course

Still, the brief adds some important points that an ultimate Supreme Court decision will need to consider: Among recognized “uses by law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes” are “self-defense, target shooting, and public defense,” that last category touching on the core purpose the Framers had in mind as articulated in the first 13 words of the Second Amendment. My latest from Firearms News looks at a long called for DOJ action in support of the Second Amendment that matches its new words.

Welcome to the Party, Pals

GOA Condemns DOJ Proposal to Merge ATF and DEA: “A Trojan Horse for Gun Control”… The allied organizations joining GOA and GOF are the Second Amendment Foundation, CCRKBA (Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms), CRPA (California Rifle & Pistol Association) and 2nd Amendment Law Center. [More]

Been making similar points for years…

Y’know, if you guys would listen to another piece of advice and demand your rightful seats on the “Task Force,” we wouldn’t keep running into these loggerheads disconnects…

Rhode Island Reds

Rhode Island’s Democratic-controlled state House on Friday approved legislation that would ban the sale and manufacturing of many semiautomatic rifles commonly referred to as assault weapons. The proposal now heads to the desk of Democratic Gov. Dan McKee, who said in a post on the social platform X on Friday evening that he plans to sign the bill into law. [More]

Dan does have his priorities

And note how AP characterizes them as “weapons of choice.”

I guess that’s always depended on what lie you wanted to perpetuate.

Coming Soon, to a Democrat Tyranny Near You

Commencing July 1, 2024, an excise tax is hereby imposed upon licensed firearms dealers, firearms manufacturers, and ammunition vendors, at the rate of 11 percent of the gross receipts from the retail sale in this state of any firearm, firearm precursor part, or ammunition. [More]

True, and I don’t suppose too many would be interested in DRESing for success...

Still, why is no one bellyaching about Pittman-Robertson, especially with all those anti-freedom Fudds throwing the rest of us under the bus?

Old Editorial Useful in Showing True Goal Behind ‘Commonsense Gun Safety’ Lie

The point of rehashing all this now is to remind younger gun owners that citizen disarmament and its resultant monopoly of violence, repackaged by the prohibitionists now as “commonsense gun safety laws,” has always been the goal. [More]

Don’t let meaningless slogans parroted by indignant useful idiots distract from the real motives of the cold intellects behind citizen disarmament.

Good Guy with a Gun

Security guard kills Michigan church gunman, preventing ‘large-scale mass shooting’: Police [More]

It’s nice the church took proactive steps to protect it’s “flock,” but most of them fit that description, dependent on someone else to save them. Sheepdogs are hardly what the Founders had in mind and I’ve never liked that analogy.

Note that not one “commonsense gun safety law” group would have preferred the congregants to be armed instead of being slaughtered like sheep, which would have given them gallons of fresh blood to dance in.

I wonder how soon it will be until Brian Browning appears over at the “Gun Violence Memorial“?

Related UPDATE

A thwarted blood dancer tries to hide his disappointment while demanding even more vulnerability. Give the guy credit, though: He’s managed to be both a foreign enemy AND a domestic enemy.

Just Here for the Ratio

Anybody see them object to this by one of theirs?

So Much for Text, History, and Tradition

The Fourth Circuit found Wednesday that a federal regulation prohibiting the commercial sale of handguns to those under 21 is constitutionally valid, despite efforts by a group of 18 to 20-year-olds who say they should be able to buy handguns. [More]

“Federal”?

Bondi’s DOJ hasn’t thrown in the towel? Why not?

And I see the DSM is still putting “Reagan appointed” in front of that f_ing treasonous judicial dotard Harvie Wilkinson’s name, as if that somehow makes everything appear “bipartisan”…

It Ain’t Over ’til It’s Over

But we’re not across the finish line just yet. Parts of the bill still need to be cleaned up, and there’s still a chance we get stabbed in the back right before the goal. It’s time to mobilize—one final push. This is our chance, and we can’t afford to waste it. [More]

Gun Store Shutdown Moves Ahead

Republican Senator Fred Girod said he believed the point of the bill was to make guns more expensive. We disagree. The bill is clearly designed to make guns unavailable. [More]

Don’t look to the controlled opposition to deny a quorum.

UPDATE

I’m told the House decided a floor show was an appropriate people’s business concern:

A Flawed Premise from the Get-Go

In a major development for gun owners and constitutionalists, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit just withdrew a deeply flawed ruling that claimed suppressors aren’t “arms” protected by the Second Amendment. [More]

The bigger flaw is that government employees think that’s their call to make.

A New York State of Mind

NYC councilmember urges residents to take up arms after robbers tied up Queens family in shocking home invasion: ‘Constitutional right’ [More]

Shows ya what I know. I didn’t think NYC had “Republican” council members.

Anyway, what are these “gun permits” she says she’s going to help her constituents obtain, and what do they have to do with the Second Amendment?

They all know there’s a difference between purchase and carry permits, don’t they?

As the Amendments Fall

“The right to counsel is not a luxury,” said MACDL President Shira Diner. “It is a bedrock principle of our justice system, guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment and by Article 12 of the Massachusetts Declaration of Rights. When people are jailed without lawyers, the system ceases to be just—or constitutional.” [More]

Let’s try this again with a few word substitutions:

“The right to arms is not a luxury. It is a bedrock principle of our system, guaranteed by the Second Amendment and by Article 17 of the Massachusetts Declaration of Rights. When people are disarmed without being adjudicated with full due process and incarcerated, the system ceases to be just—or constitutional.”

DIY?

If it’s legal to “homebrew” so to speak in the vernacular, a home-made 3D Printed or complete an 80% handgun and or rifle, WITHOUT DOTGOV PERMISSION OR PAPERWORK then, by extent, wouldn’t the same exact legality apply to “homebrewed” hushpuppies and all the rest of the happy-time fun toys??? [More]
