A group of Senate conservatives is calling on President Joe Biden to fight the nation’s violent crime wave by deploying all available resources to American cities across the United States. [More]
If they were true conservatives they’d understand principles of federalism and what the Founders knew to be “necessary to the security of a free State.”

My guess is they’ll play it on the risk management CYA side and not want to be accused of being negligent for NOT reporting someone who later creates a liability. That, and politically powerful tyrant wannabes will be putting on the squeeze.
It’s typical Opposite Day “progressivism,” really– they bow to an ISO category “standard” with no clearly defined and legally supportable standards for snitch triggers.

Members of an Ohio-based Christian group called the Salt and Light Brigade were among the “suspicious actors” who breached the police lines on the east side of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and engaged in a “stunning conspiracy” to commit illegal acts that were falsely ascribed to the Oath Keepers, a defense attorney contends. I wonder why they haven’t been arrested.

If my admitted presumption about the defender and his family is correct, that means the gun-grabbers would rather see innocent minorities killed than armed.
We know they would regardless, but that would kind of put an exclamation point on it.

“Everybody knows the prestige and heritage associated with Remington…” [More]
Well, we thought we did.
That “Remington Ammunition and Remington Firearms are now two separate companies” does not mean how that happened can be treated like it never did.

What should you do if you used a credit card to make a gun shop purchase and the feds come knocking at your door asking to see your hardware? You should ask to see their search warrant. They won’t have one, in which case you should politely say, “Have a good day” and close and lock your door. Then call your local police and report unwanted knocking on your door by an armed stranger. As fun as that sounds, I’m not sure I’d follow his advice. In the Delaware case, they came with a state trooper plus they showed badges, and “Only Ones” generally (admittedly not always) back each other up. If I were to do as he suggests, I’d make sure to add that they say they are law enforcement but do not have a warrant. And if I did call, it would probably be to the sheriff.

A former Kansas City, Kansas, police detective who has long been accused of sexually preying on Black women during criminal investigations was indicted Thursday on charges that he sexually abused two women, the FBI said. [More]
The saying (evidently) worked out in this case: He’s never going back. And I’m guessing, based on the general incompetence and corruption throughout the penal system demonstrated by its failure to actually control those under its “control,” that he’ll have plenty of opportunity in the coming years to have (alleged) roles reversed.
That is if he doesn’t eat a gun first, adding to demands to disarm you and me.

A witty and informative email reply by attorney Donald Kilmer to a discussion on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors banning .50-caliber handguns:
As long the ban doesn’t exceed the .64 caliber U.S. issued smoothbore flintlock boarding pistol, we have nothing to worry about. Maybe the Board of Sups should read a little history.
