At least 4 dead, including suspect, in Farmington mass shooting: What we know [More]
I want to see how long it takes to get what we don’t know out there.
I take it this means they’ll want more than “red flag laws” and “universal background checks“?

I’d say it’s about time the anti-gun Democrats did something I agree with, but I’m fearing the devil will be in the details and this will open the door to all kinds of leftist chaos and wealth transfers from the productive…

Gun Control Bills Will be Back in 2024 [More]
The governor wants more, of course. NMSSA outlines what to expect in the next session and announces an upcoming membership meeting.
On March 30, New Mexico Governor and Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham signed one of the worst election bills in the U.S. country into law. The bill, dubbed the “New Mexico Voting Rights Act,” is a massive expansion of Democrat-backed election policies that blue states across the nation are intent on ramming through state legislatures. And guess what one of her major priorities will be.

We have less than three days left in the 2023 Legislative Session. What happens in the coming hours will determine what legislation passes, or fails to pass. Here are the bills we are tracking as the session comes to a close. [More]
This hardly means it’s time for NM gun owners to relax.

Today’s legislative action got off to a wild start when the governor threatened to hold a special session to focus on gun control if the legislature doesn’t pass her priority bills. [More]
Ask yourself why she wants them this badly, and if getting them will be enough for her.

Today, the Governor held a press conference to promote her anti-gun and anti-freedom agenda. But her displeasure at the tabling of SB171 yesterday was noticeable, so she is doubling down on pushing for her slate of anti-gun bills. As a result, two bills were scheduled late today for hearings tomorrow. [More]
Meaning today. Zoom links included.

With about three weeks to go in the 2023 Legislative Session, none of the bills we are watching were heard in committee or were voted on in a floor session. However, that will change next week. [More]
Meaning this week, since I didn’t get this until I’d tucked the blog in for the weekend…

“Any person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a fourth degree felony.” [More]
“Any person” would seem to include any person traversing the state on these interstates.
But don’t worry. Any person will be protected as a traverser. Maybe.
For this and other “concessions” on illegitimate claims against our birthrights “we” accepted the “voice vote” Hughes Amendment…?
Does any person doubt it will pass?

UPDATE

Gun and Magazine Ban Bills Scheduled for Committee Hearings [More]
NMSSA says “It is absolutely imperative that gun owners speak out on these bills.”

One week into the 2023 legislative session, and it’s in full swing already. [More]
I trust all New Mexico readers are active members…?

In HB101, which was filed today by Representative Andrea Romero, if you own a semi-automatic rifle you would have to destroy it or surrender it to the state by July 1 of this year or you would be committing a felony. The bill also makes it a felony to own a magazine that holds more than 9 rounds. [More]
At some point, there have to be stiff sanctions for in-your-face defiance of the SCOTUS ruling or they’ll just keep pulling this sh!+.

The 2023 New Mexico Legislative Session is just days away from getting started, and the anti-gun bills are pouring in. [More]
They just keep pouring it on.

HB50 was filed today by Representative Caballero. Under the proposed legislation, owning a magazine that holds 10 or more rounds would make you a felon the moment the law goes into place. The bill even includes a $1.5 million appropriation to “carry out the provisions of the act.” [More]
