Yeah, about that…
Funny… not one of these folks has apologized.
Notes from the Resistance
However, for those like Hudson who do have these concerns, I’d offer a suggestion. If you feel this way, you should start pushing the lawmakers asking for your support to oppose gun control. [More]
We’re well aware of Republican betrayals and failures. That said, what kind of utter moron says they’re for the right to keep and bear arms and then backs Democrats, and what kind of two-faced opportunists support that?
Just because the enemy has guns is no reason to mistake them for our friends.

Fact: Every stupid, fat woman in a red “Moms Demand” t-shirt wants the government to keep the rest of us from being able to defend ourselves against maniacs trying to kill us.
In a news conference from Sao Paulo state, Lula accused Bolsonaro of encouraging the uprising by those he termed “fascist fanatics,” and he read a freshly signed decree for the federal government to take control of security in the federal district. “There is no precedent for what they did and these people need to be punished,” Lula said. Sure there is. It even looks like they’re using the J6 Playbook.
And not to say “I told you so,’ but:
This isn’t over. And we in the Land of the Second Amendment may learn a thing or two before it is… In an editorial comment-laced “news” story rife with loaded terms and leftist-sympathizing sentiment, The Washington Post tells us Jair Bolsonaro has flown to Florida. Don’t be surprised if that’s not enough for the Lula regime.
Tangentially related: It looks like the trade association rope-sellers can’t suck up hard enough and hit the ground running proposing new infringements. [More]

Jones also declined to reveal details of the shooting, or say how the boy got access to the gun or who owns the weapon. “This is a red flag for the country,” Jones said. [More]
A red flag for the country as in he wants to mass confiscate guns without due process, or a red flag for the country as in everybody better take that as a signal of tyrannical intent and prepare accordingly?
Convenient, isn’t it, how they can use the little aberration’s age to mask relevant details that will prove to all but the fanatical and the stupid that this is not a “gun problem” and hardly representative of the country outside of “progressive” enclaves?

Who let this idiot into the country?
One change in particular — which empowers a single lawmaker to launch the process of ousting the Speaker — is giving heartburn to lawmakers in both parties, who fear a hard-line group of conservatives will use it repeatedly to browbeat McCarthy into keeping crucial must-pass bills off the floor. Consider that a silver lining on a much larger cloud.

UPDATE
An interesting speculation making the rounds to explain why the powers behind him would not quit: McCarthy has been designated to be the next president, not because he’s electable but because the “Swamp” needs to replace Biden sooner rather than later, realizes Harris is an utter disaster who needs to be “persuaded” to step aside, and the Speaker being third in line would make a controllable “Republican’s” succession the option least likely to provoke unmanageable resistance… and pave the way for a Democrat victory in ’24 with such a weak incumbent.
Obviously, there’s no way to validate any of this, but it will be interesting if things start to shape up that way.
The identity of a customer who fatally shot a masked robber inside a Houston taqueria and returned the stolen money to terrified diners remained a mystery Sunday as police released a surveillance image of him and requested he come forward for questioning… The gun the robber used to menace diners turned out to be a toy gun, police said. That’s one less genius to plague society.
The kill shot makes the Good Samaritan buying into “All we want to do is talk and no charges have been filed” problematic.

But don’t worry. No one is trying to take your guns.

Ah! The understanding at the time was that parents would have a say in what their dependent children could or could not do! So, according to this, there were no Founding-era laws saying a boy or girl couldn’t have a gun if the adults raising them wanted them to. [More]

Yeah, well I just got a tip that Virginia’s VCheck system is down, and had that confirmed by calling an FFL– and he didn’t know why and hadn’t received information.
Nothing on VCDL Alerts yet…
So I tried calling both Virginia State Police Firearms Transaction Center Help Desk numbers [(804) 674-2292 or (804) 674-2788] and both aren’t working.
My guess is this is the culprit:
I tweeted a question to them and will update this if I hear back.

Reagan was well into Alzheimers when he supposedly made the AK-47 statement. I’ve always had a gut feeling that statement was made under instructions from Nancy after his brain was pretty well fogged.
(Comment under my recent article)
First of all, I addressed his Alzheimer’s in my poll results link. I’ve been hearing that desperate excuse-making for damn near 20 years now.
There’s no “supposedly” about it. Reagan made the statement in Feb. 1989 at the University of Southern California in a 78th-birthday event widely covered by the media (go to 43 minutes in). You tell me if he sounds senile. His official letter announcing he had “recently been told” he was afflicted with Alzheimer’s was written in Nov. 1994.
Students, staff and professors were left “angry,” “hurt” and “physically sick” at the thought of him coming to campus, based on complaints primarily filed before the event. [More]
